The Oscars Frocks

I always like to take a peek at the outfit choices on show at the Oscars. This year the offering seemed somewhat subdued. I couldn't spot any outright howlers, although I'm not sure Marisa Tomei chose the most flattering dress.


Red was a prevalent colour, with Sandra Bullock keeping it simple & pulling it off to the greatest effect in Vera Wang. Subtle, shimmering silver tones were also popular with Gwyneth Paltrow being praised for her Calvin Klein choice. My favourite silver look was Hilary Swank in Gucci Premiere, keeping accessories to a minimum & letting the dress do all of the talking.

    Cate Blanchett has definitely got her own sense of style & can get away with wearing something a bit leftfield.

    Helen Mirren looks amazing doesn't she! The colour is perfect on her too.
