NY fashion week Autumn Winter 2012

The New York collections were for the most part their usual lesson in understated chic, which should suit me down to the ground. However, it did get a bit monotonous seeing the same silhouette collection after collection. I found myself waiting for the big finale as I scrolled through the looks but it rarely came to fruition. I've become a pinner...

In this era of social media addiction, we all love to hear about the "next big thing". Well in my case Pinterest is fast becoming my online pastime of choice.

Launched in 2010, Pinterest is basically a web pinboard. You need to create a profile first, much like facebook & twitter, then you create mood boards on whatever themes that take your fancy. You can upload your own images as well as repinning those from other users. Again, like other social media sites, you can follow other pinners or just "like" pins. What's great about Pinterest is that your boards remain static & don't get lost in an ever-changing timeline.

As a result of my background in the fashion industry I've always been an avid fan of the mood board. I love nothing more than researching themes, going through magazine tears & creating the perfect visual feast that is the mood board. Well now I can do it online too!

To whet your image appetite, here are a few of my favourite pins that I've found so far...
