And then came Milan...

Is it me or were the Autumn Winter 2012 Milan collections slightly more subdued than usual? Of course Roberto Cavalli offered up flamboyance but it did feel somewhat watered down & as a result I did find myself quite liking some of his looks.

Dolce & Gabbana however did keep up appearances. A lavish collection full of Sicilian & religious references & a textural feast combining lace & prints. This collection, along with Jil Sander & Gianfranco Ferré, was the one of the few to get my creative juices excited.

London fashion week Autumn Winter 2012

What better way to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon than catching up on the latest AW12 collections. It became a mammoth session, three hours lost in a whirl of colour, texture & print. I can safely say that I'm now up to speed on London, Milan & the majority of Paris.

Here are my favourite London offerings...

NY fashion week Autumn Winter 2012

The New York collections were for the most part their usual lesson in understated chic, which should suit me down to the ground. However, it did get a bit monotonous seeing the same silhouette collection after collection. I found myself waiting for the big finale as I scrolled through the looks but it rarely came to fruition. Nonetheless, there were several outfits that floated my boat, it mainly came down to fabulous colour & texture & the occasional little black or red dress. Here they are...
